• Raising the shoulders or straps to make the bust line perfectly balanced.
• Tapering the bodice to contour your torso.
• Adjusting the waistline, whether it is a natural waist, Basque waistline, or princess seams.
• Tapering or adjusting the skirt.
• Bustles are Modern or French in style, with or without tiers. Most gowns have one to five points.
• Hemming the gown. (I pride myself on a perfect hemline, even on bias cut silk.)

There are several styles of hems with which I am facile: rolled hems, ball hems and back cross-stitch hand hems. There are many layers to most wedding gowns - including the crinoline - and all must be hemmed properly so the gown will drape naturally.
